Red Sox fans enjoy having an inferiority complex

Listening to Mike and the Mad Dog today, Mike and a caller from Connecticut had an argument over whether or not you could consider the Yankees an underdog if the Red Sox acquire Johan Santana. Mike said with the two best pitchers in baseball in your rotation, the Sox should be favorites, especially coming off a World Series title. The Sox fan contended that the Sox are always underdogs because they don't spend as much money.

Two titles in five years, a payroll that only the Yankees could afford, and Sox fans still whine about the Yankees' spending and want to be the little engine that could. Doesn't work anymore guys, doesn't work.

Rodney wanted respect, Sox fans want to be looked at as losers. Idiots.
